Emerging markets provide extremely exciting opportunities within the coal export industry. As a calorie rich material, coal has built and powered industries for generations and continues to do so. South Africa and Mozambique have vast coal reserves and are of particular interest to OCI and our clients in Asian markets.
OCI has developed first class contacts in a number of regions and works closely with medium to large sized mines to provide them with outlets for exporting. The quality of our African materials are preferable to those of Indonesian and Australian alternatives. With recent improvements in infrastructure and access, Central and Eastern Africa has become a significant supplier for our international marketplace.

50,000MT of material shipped each year

Commodities fuel the global industrial markets, they are critical for international trade - That is why OCI source, supply and ship where others can't.

OCI has a strong handle within the ferrous metal recycling market with steel being our primary product. Steel emerges from a variety of sources; including the rubber products that we work with, to more obvious sources like recycled cars or even as niche as shipbreaking.
We operate under the ISRI guidelines to ensure our products pass stringent quality testing meaning OCI’s materials reach our clients’ mills on time and to the correct specification.
